RSI tip - Turn your door handle vertical

Vertical door handle This is a funny think to do. The idea is same as for some models of vertical mouse. Wrist is in its natural hand-shake position.Changing your door handles is easy:

  • Loosen little screw positioned where the handle meets the door
  • Take out both parts of the handle
  • Turn up 90 degrees (see picture) and secure back
    Make sure you do not turn it down, door frame could prevent pressing the handle (which happened to me first time and I got into trouble how to leave the room :)

While opening, you can move your elbow close to the door and open the door by just pulling the handle sideways (this way you are pulling with your whole arm rather than twisting your hand).
